Job search stories

So, little experiment here (hat tip to Jeff Clark for the idea).

Blogs are usually someone - in this case yours truly - talking at the reader.   Which is kind of rude.  So, the thought is we’d like to hear from you - post your job search stories (the uglier, the funnier), and let’s get something going.

Funny story from what seems another life time. I was 18 years old applying for my first real job after graduating. I sent a resume (like they did in the old days) and got a call back from a small manufacturing company. The interview went great and I felt positive when I left. The next day I got a call from the hiring manager and this is no joke the manager said: “I thought you were the right person for the job and then when you walked out of my office and I saw your ass I knew you had to work for me”. Well I was as crazy then as I am now so I said great when do I start. I ended up working there for 8 years . My boss ended up being a great mentor so you just never know.
