Recruiting Manager                                               July 2006 – Present

ZoomInfo, Waltham MA

ZoomInfo, a leading source for business information on people and companies, utilizes a highly sophisticated, artificial intelligence and natural language processing technology to pull data from the Web and then create comprehensive profiles on professionals and companies.  This data is served up via subscription and a la carte offerings to salespeople, marketers, and recruiters.

Hired to create a recruiting function within the organization.  Focus on an internal agency approach, with business leaders as clients.  Lead creation and implementation of recruiting strategies that directly impact the success of the company.  Report directly into the executive team, and partner closely with managers and leaders across the organization. Create specific recruiting plans for openings that utilize a mix of: direct marketing; phone sourcing; employee referrals; social media; advertising.

Accomplishments

  • Close partner with hiring managers – get buy in as subject matter expert and use of data to back up positions
  • Hires:130, cost per hire over 3 years average $1,500 (had been at $16,000 per hire in 2005)
  • Developed and maintain deep candidate pipelines across multiple disciplines
  • Created innovative, highly regarded brand and voice for career advertising – ads have been held up as best practices examples by national recruiting trainers and bloggers, and generated consistent positive feedback from candidates.
  • Spearheaded creation of ZoomInfo social media presence, including creation of @ZoomInfo Twitter presence; ZoomInfo Facebook Fan Page; etc.
  • During growth push in second half of 2007/ Q1 2008:
    • Hired 44 employees, at an average cost of $900 per employee
    • Ownership and responsibility for 50% expansion of company headquarters into adjacent empty space.  Resulting space was fully functional, on time and within budget, and included: 50 person, active sales floor; board room; two exec offices; company meeting space.
  • During company contraction in 2008 and hiring slow down, took over product marketing for recruitment products after Recruiting Products Marketing Division laid off
    • Marketing mix included webinars by industry thought leaders; monthly newsletter with original content; e-mail lead gen campaigns; speaking at regional recruiting events
  • Manage recruiting agency relationships

Executive Recruiter                                              July 2005 – July 2006

Gardner Resources Group, Wellesley, MA

Regional accounting and finance recruiting agency. Focused on client and candidate development.

Accomplishments

  • Boston Scientific had proven impenetrable by agency.  Within 3 months, landed as revenue generating client, with 6 placements over the following 9 months.
  • Signed CombinatoRx, ran successful searches for VP of Finance as well as Controller

Consultant                                                                    October 2002 – July 2005

Premier Agendas/ School Specialty, Bellingham, WA

Premier pioneered the sale of student planners and 7 Habits for Teens curriculum within the K-12 market.  Products range from simple planners to highly integrated curriculum and teacher training.  Ran sales territory that covered Middlesex and Norfolk Counties, and ultimately expanded to include Boston.

Accomplishments

  • Took over bleeding territory that had been run by 4 different sales reps on 3 years, and no rep working it for the prior 6 months
  • Reversed downward trend, repaired key client relationships, and grew territory by 10% first year.  Growth averaged 15% per year

Executive Recruiter                                                September 1997 – October 2002

CPS, Inc, Boston, MA

National contingency recruiting agency.  Boston branch specializes in locating actuarial and employee benefit talent.  Ran a desk that focused on both client as well as candidate development.

Start up division within Addison-Wesley/ Benjamin Cummings, folded back into company in early 1997.  Ran 4 state territory, covering Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, and Virginia, selling computer science and engineering textbook adoptions to large engineering departments.
