I like Harry Joiner  – and he makes a great point in this post on why resumes matter.  A blog can be a great thing, and is a neat way for an employer to learn more about you (so don’t go posting anything funny-peculiar, ‘kay?).   A resume matters because no recruiter/ headhunter has the time to sift through a blog as a first impression.  Your resume is your fact sheet, your 5-minute elevator speech to a hiring authority about why you bear further investigation, and why you might be a good investment.  If things progress, then your blog/ site/ et al can be useful.  But the resume still matters.
