To quote Blaise Pascal (who was in turn quoted famously by Mark Twain): “The present letter is a long one, simply because I had no leisure to make it shorter.”  If your resume is over 2 pages, then you’d better find some “leisure” time to put it right.  Even with highly accomplished engineers, with multiple publications, etc, more than 2 pages is a turn off.  Unless you’re applying for a professorship, there’s no need to list all of that – you can always create a longer one for conferences, etc, but craft a 1-2 pager that highlights your key skills when applying for a job.  Trust me on this one.
